Recently On Stage @ NHTP – Twelfth Night

Posted in Now Playing, Uncategorized on November 27, 2011 by nhtheatreproject

New Hampshire Theatre Project has just concluded a well attended run of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, or What You Will.

Twelfth Night is discretionary time wisely spent!” – “Shakespeare fan or not, this is a do. Don’t miss this fresh, clever take on the classic, ideally executed. It offers a cure for winter cold — earnest laughter.” (Jeanné McCartin, Seacoastonline).
“Director Genevieve Aichele stages the comedy in all the bold colors and fashions of the ’60s while remaining loyal to Shakespeare’s original script. An energetic local cast brings it all to life with irresistibly fun music and hilarity.”
(Matt Kanner, The Wire)

Shakespeare’s beloved comedy Twelfth Night, or What You Will opened on the traditional twelfth day of Christmas, replete with its own magic, romance and joyful pranks.  But here, too, there is an underlying mystery beneath the laughter, as Feste the Fool cautions: “What’s to come is still unsure…”

Recently on Stage @ NHTP – Faith Healer

Posted in Past Productions on October 8, 2011 by nhtheatreproject

In November, New Hampshire Theatre Project concluded the run of season opener, Faith Healer by Brian Friel.

November 11-27, 2011

Brian Friel’s intimate portrait of Frank Hardy, his wife, Grace, and manager, Teddy, is told in four monologues from three different perspectives. With an all-star NHTP cast of Peter Motson, Genevieve Aichele, and Blair Hundertmark, this emotionally stirring theatrical journey portrays the artist as both dreamer and destroyer.

Led by the artistic vision of director Blair Hundertmark, Friel’s lyrical language is brought to life by characters both tragically fragile and comfortably familiar.  With costumes by Michele Macadaeg, lighting and scenic design by Meghann Beauchamp, Faith Healer is a transcendent storytelling experience perfectly suited to NHTP’s intimate theatre space.

Production sponsors include Dr. Gary & Patricia Kish,
Ben Harris & Rebecca Mitchell, Cherylanne Williams,
Pat Spalding
and Dr. Robert & Patricia Hickey.

Join us for our “Change the Way You See the World” 2011-12 Season at 959 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH.
